1879- A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen

  • One of the first examples of modern drama.
  • Controversial because it criticized the traditional roles of marriage.

  1. Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll House" is controversial because it is not understood. Ibsen wrote in hidden layers and you won't find more layers than you have in yourself. Want to know what "A Doll House" is about? Well, it's not about feminism and definately not about divorce. It is about marriage as representing the highest level a person can obtain. There is Adam & Eve, God, Satan, angels and Kierkegaard's dialectic represented in Henrik Ibsen's masterpiece.

Henrik Ibsen is the greatest. He is greater than Steinbeck or Shakespeare, greater even than the greek philosophers.
